BEST EVER Clay Recipe!

Looking for a great clay recipe? Look no further. This is the one for you 😃 (sound like a sales person? I've been watching to much infomercial 😄..

But really, This recipe is great. easy to make, nice and white color. super white color. perfect for ornaments or lil sculpting crafts. I'm always experimenting to find the perfect dough and I have found it.

My son enjoyed playing with the dough and making his little Christmas ornaments.

Just five ingredients which you should have laying around in your pantry, and about 3-5 minutes of your time, you will have a nice ball of awesomeness to create as you wish.

INGREDIENTS:

1 CUP BAKING SODA
1/2 CUP CORN STARCH
1/4 CUP FLOUR
1/2 CUP SALT
1 to 1-1/2 CUP WATER

Mix baking soda, flour, salt, cornstarch together in medium size pot. Add water, mix well. Set stove to medium heat and keep mixing and scraping sides well until it starts getting thick and leaving the pan. This process should take 2-3 minutes, which will leave you with a nice clump of dough.
Remove from heat, place dough on a plate and let cool completely before using.

*You can add scented oils to your mixture (I used peppermint) or leave as is.

Once cooled, roll into a ball, then flatten for cookie cutter or Mold however you wish.

Dry time for us was 2 days.
Be sure to flip the mold once the top side feels dry. you can keep flipping every 8 or so hours until completely dried. Be careful when flipping. You don't want to break the dough or create creases.

Paint or decorate however you wish, seal with modge podge and you're done. I sealed with modge podge to prevent moisture from getting to it so it will last longer.

**If using a brush to apply modge podge, be sure paint is completely dried or use the spray. Don't let it come in contact with any surface, or you will have peeled paint from your ornaments, which you can see in some of ours😊.

Here are a few more pics of my son decorating and of his creations displayed on the tree.
Happy Holiday!

They're not perfect because they were mostly done by the kinder but they're perfectly fine for me. It was made with love. I Loved seeing the excitement on his face during the entire process.

We also made Pots with it. You can find them here. We will add a few coats of sealant so we can plant succulents in them.  CLICK HERE to see Pots. It was for a lesson project.

It has also helped with keeping everything organized and in a set place, which makes the process of schooling so much easier. Here is a peak of our area.😃. Our sensory area is not quite done yet. I'm trying to decide if i should leave everything on the floor (just put a mat under) or build a table for it.
