DIY Number Chart | Keep on Counting | NYC Mommy Blog

Do It Yourself! Number Chart : 1-100 This simple number chart is fun and so easy to make. If you love creating things yourself, this will be a nice, fun and rewarding project for you. I was originally planning on taking the easy way out, and just buy him a number chart, like I previously did (he has a Numbers 1-10 Chart that I got from Amazon). But I couldn't find one of my liking, so I decided to make my own. I am happy I did. He was so happy and excited about the project, which in turn made him more interested in using the chart and learning his numbers. What I used: 22 x 28 poster board sharpie markers pencil ruler scissors stickers for decorating. (Instead of buying stickers, I printed graphics from Microsoft word and just glued them to mine). **The bubble numbers, I got online. I can't remember the name of the site, but will give credit and a link once I find it.** If you're doing it in the presence of your toddler, add to the excitement by gi...

Rainy Days | Splish Splash - Muddy Dash | NYC Mommy Blog

How did you spend the last few rainy days? Mitri and I got bundled up in our boots and coats then went out and enjoyed the pouring rain. Who say we have to stay locked up inside when it's raining? Outdoors on a rainy day can be alot of fun. We enjoyed every bit of it. The boy splashed and splashed, until he couldn't splash anymore.     And after all that fun Splashing in the awesome rain and mud, We went in and did some painting. We used our Crayola washable kids paint. I joined in the fun to.  who said crayola kids paint is just for kids? :) Reminded me of my childhood days. Playing in the rain was always a blast. Then cuddling inside  with my sisters,  playing mommy to my doll (or   a rock dressed like a doll) :). Fun times. ~~~~~~~~~~ All photos posted here are property of Life with Me3. High Functioning Depression | Repost | NYC Blogger

When i came upon this article from Iheart intelligence , It had me thinking. Does any of my family members or friends go through this? My children, Do they go through this? It's sad to think of someone so close to you, going through this. So I am planning a family meeting to discuss this with my children. The best time to help is before the situation arises. Teach and educate them about these things, let them know they will always have someone to talk to, if things go wrong. Educate them on how important it is to get help. Here is an excerpt from that article.   Depression can hide behind bright smiles and good grades. It can live within social butterflies and athletic success stories. It can raise well-behaved children, maintain a clean house, and cook fantastic meals. It can double a company’s quarterly profits. It goes to class, hangs out with friends, and shows up to work on time. Really, it can look like anything. It makes an art form of blending in. It hides within u...

Dr. Seuss - Cat in The Hat - Paper Hat | Mommy Blog

Dr. Seuss week crept up on us. I had ideas for what we will do, but lost track of time. When i realized it was Dr. Seuss Day, I decided to try to make at least one item from our list before the day ended. But, I had none of the materials from the plan, at hand for our projects. So i improvised. yep! I got creative using construction paper, poster board, and more, to whip up a quick hat. Despite the last minute rush, lil man had fun making the hat and enjoyed using it. Getting to use scissors and glue, was the most wonderful experience for him. He couldn't wait to show off his hat to his dad and brothers. Materials: construction paper (red, white and black) Poster Board (white) Scissors Glue Hot glue gun with glue sticks Printer Tape measure Making the hat was easy. Brim  - I measured his head, found a bowl that was the same size or close to it, placed it on the poster board (I used 11x14), then cut the circle.  The perfect round piec...
