Home Made Paint

Do you have a lil one that loves to paint?
Concerned about what's in the paint at the store?
Are you just looking for something fun to do with your lil one?
Do you want to add a little more excitement to painting time?..

........Well, here is a fun recipe with an easy method for creating bright and beautiful paint colors. With just 4 ingredients and about five (5) minutes of your time, you can create this fun paint for your child(ren) to enjoy.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup salt
1 can condensed milk
1/2 cup corn starch
**Less water for a thicker texture.
**more or less cornstarch, depending on the thickness you want.

Method:
Place 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup salt in pot, turn stove on to low. Let salt dissolve.
Add cornstarch, mixing well until smooth.
Add condensed milk, mix well.
Let mixture cool, pour even amount in small containers. Add a few drops food coloring and mix well.

**For easier mixing of cornstarch, mix it into a paste using a small amount of room temperature water before adding to pot.

I love the nice light and beautiful colors.

Paint away!!!

Yes, He's painting with my pastry brush :). He was to eager to try it out, no time to run to the other room to grab the real paint brushes :).

**My paint lasts for quite a long time (That is if the paint loving toddler, does not use it to generously) . I do not do any special storage. I just leave them sitting on the shelf and use whenever we're ready.

**Paint is washable. So you do not have to worry about stains.
** Dries quickly.
** Sticky? Yes, but only when wet but it's really not that bad. just a slight stickiness.

**UPDATE**
It's been about a month since I made this paint, and it's still good. It was simply stored on the desk with other craft supplies.

It has also helped with keeping everything organized and in a set place, which makes the process of schooling so much easier. Here is a peak of our area.😃. Our sensory area is not quite done yet. I'm trying to decide if i should leave everything on the floor (just put a mat under) or build a table for it.
