This week's lesson is a bit different. We are studying Ameircan Potter Maria Martinez

  • Read up on her and her pottery. links added. We read about her in our Grade1 curriculum but didn't get to do the pot, so we are doing again for fun.
  • Learn the meaning of Potter and Pottery.

MAKE a Clay Pot and Decorate it.

MATERIALS NEEDED:
  • Air dry Clay
  • paint and paint brushes

If you do not have air dry clay, You can make your own molding clay by using a salt dough recipe:

2 cups all purpose flour, 1 cup salt, 1 cup water. mix salt and flour then add water and make a dough.

It has also helped with keeping everything organized and in a set place, which makes the process of schooling so much easier. Here is a peak of our area.😃. Our sensory area is not quite done yet. I'm trying to decide if i should leave everything on the floor (just put a mat under) or build a table for it.
