IT'S BEEN A WHILE | NEW PLAYDOUGH RECIPE| Lifewithme3 Homeschool

It's been quite some time since I've updated or made a post. But we are still at it. Life has been busy, The toddler has been keeping me on my toes daily🙂.

Anyway, with her comes new creativity and ideas for toddler and preschool activities.
One of her favorite activities is playing with playdough. She uses up so much of it daily. Hides them in corners and within toy bins causing them to dry out overnight. It became to expensive to replace them so often, so I got back to the DIY train😀.

This set has been my absolute best ever. Most durable, best consistency and texture. It's so soft and just perfect! It's been a week now and still soft. No drying and cracking. It's so easy to make.

It does take about 20 minutes to make because it's a cooked version, but it's well worth it.

Recipe:
1 cup flour
1 cup cornstarch
1 cup baking soda
1/4 cup salt
1 TBSP oil (I used coconut)
1-1/2 cup warm water
Food coloring/dye
Essential oils (optional)
Pot (heavy base is best)

  • Mix all dry ingredients together in pot.
  • Add water and oil, mix until a smooth paste is formed.
  • Turn on stove to medium heat.
  • Stir mixture until dough is formed and leaving bottom of pot. Removed from heat and place on parchment paper to cool.
  • Knead dough, separate and add food coloring to individual sections. Knead until color is evenly distributed.
Store play dough in air tight container or ziplock bags when not in use. It will last much longer.

Happy DIY and Happy Playtime!

DO not use any content without written permission. -- One of the best things I have done is create a separate space for our home school. It has eliminated so much clutter from our family area. It has also helped with keeping everything organized and in a set place, which makes the process of schooling so much easier. Here is a peak of our area.😃. Our sensory area is not quite done yet. I'm trying to decide if i should leave everything on the floor (just put a mat under) or build a table for it.
