How many of you have had doubts about homeschooling? How many of you have wondered if you’re doing the right thing? How many of you have had the “I wonder if I’m teaching my child(ren) enough at home?” Moments? I surely do.

I was at the library today when a young man approached me with this booklet pictured above. I was having a hard time deciding on whether I want to continue home school through kindergarten or send him out to public school. So when he approached me, I saw this as an opportunity to get information on what their system was like. Those schools are chartered which is public but with a slightly different approach. So I thought why not gather information for options right?

Got home and my son (4 yrs old) saw the booklet, picked it up and scanned it. Then said indirectly to me 🙂 “Why did they give this to us? We don’t need this. Why are they trying to get me into their school? We already have our own school and we do a lot already, which is so very Great!”

Those words struck me and I had to sit and think about what our day entails, the things we do. I did a search for our states standards and what a kindergartner should know at the end of that school year and low and behold, the kid is correct, "We already do a lot at home school!" We have covered everything that is required for kindergarten and can pretty much go to first grade contents. I found hope and confidence in those words from my four year old child. so we are definitely continuing home school through kindergarten.

The words of my four year old encouraged me to keep going!

It has also helped with keeping everything organized and in a set place, which makes the process of schooling so much easier. Here is a peak of our area.😃. Our sensory area is not quite done yet. I'm trying to decide if i should leave everything on the floor (just put a mat under) or build a table for it.
