Art and Crafting is something I always incorporate in our daily schedule. We do something for almost every subject area that we cover for the day. When we were working on our “letter C” theme for the day, I had calico cat paper craft set but then thought, it would be so nice to sculpt this. I started with playdohbut thought, this won’t last. playdoh comes apart when dried. I wanted this to last. Of course I had no clay. So I decided to make my own 🙂. Some flour and salt did the trick!! Simple and easy to make, and best of all, it’s made with things you already have at home. Recipe: I used one cup salt to one cup flour. I gradually added cold water and kneaded into a dough until it was smooth and firm. *do not use to much water. You do not want the dough to be sticky. ...

In my opinion, reading at an early age is a great advantage for a child, But it's not just reading, It's also understanding what was read. Reading comprehension is a crucial reading skill. Without it, reading will be pointless. Here are a few ways to help your child improve their reading comprehension: First and foremot, every parent should read aloud to their child/children and Discuss what was read. How many of you have had doubts about homeschooling? How many of you have wondered if you’re doing the right thing? How many of you have had the “I wonder if I’m teaching my child(ren) enough at home?” Moments? I surely do. I was at the library today when a young man approached me with this booklet pictured above. I was having a hard time deciding on whether I want to continue home school through kindergarten or send him out to public school. So when he approached me, I saw this as an opportunity to get information on what their system was like. Those schools are chartered which is public but with a slightly different approach. All play and no work, makes Jack a dull boy.” A few days ago, Someone said to me that “It’s wrong to teach your child at home. That’s for the teachers. At this age(he’s 4), he should just be playing.” 🙄🤔🤔.. . First: A parent is free to educate their child at home. There are many reasons why we choose to home school. Secnd: My child plays! Matter of Fact; most of our learning is through play. We use games and quizzes for all of our lessons. We hike through out neighborhood and the lil bit of parks that we have, talking about every thing we see/observe, and more... We do a lot of crafts and go through more supplies than a school of children 😂.. Imagination...

During the day, night time when kids go to bed, or early morning before they rise? How do you organize and prepare? Do you plan and print all ahead of time or do you do it each day? I am trying to organize my self better, especially when it comes to planning my lessons for the day/week and having the materials ready before hand. I tend to plan and print the night before and sometimes the same morning. My goal for this new year, is to start setting a specific day to get it done.

I was browsing through facebook, when someone shared a link about TV shows and Autism. Now, the article itself, though stated, that a research was done, did not prove anything or have any detailed facts that shows the connection with Autism to these shows. I have not done my fear share of research on Autism, but as far as my common sense is taking me, I'm sure that a TV show, cannot cause Autism. But, anyway, I will not get into an argument on this.... However, I do agree with some of the complaints, that these TV shows can affect a child mentally and behaviorally. I think almost every person can relate to this. I remember the annoying callou! goodness, that kid was a whiner! He always wanted things his way. I always made my kids switch to a different show when he comes on. I do think they've heard the cry from parents and made a few adjustments to the show. I am still not a fan. Then there are most of the cartoon shows on boomerang. My son love the color and graphics. It's a nice story about an almond that was looked down on because of his physical appearance, which lead him to having no self confidence. He didn't think he can do anything great until he met a nut just like him. A friend. Someone that believed in him. showed him that anyone, no matter their challenge, can be great and achieve great things if they look past their flaws and put their mind to it, if they think outside the box. He did not just encourage him, he worked with him so they can both achieve their goal. Sometimes in life, we need a friend to encourage and help us get to where we want to be. I've been looking for ways to get him at least one package per month to boost his excitement. So, a few months ago, we decided to join the brand repping world. It has been hard getting selected but we finally got picked up by a few shops and it has been fun so far. The kids love receiving the lil clothing or toy or book in the mail. Double excitement when it comes on his name. Here he is modeling two beautiful and comfortable shirts from one of our favorite shop  S ew Chill Designs .
